Welcome to the Saskatchewan Al-Anon Family Groups Worldwide Web site.
We believe that alcoholism is a family disease.
Al-Anon is a worldwide fellowship of those who feel their lives have
been affected by someone else's drinking. The only requirement for membership
is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend. Members,
who come from all walks of life, meet to share their experience, strength
and hope in order to solve their common problems.
We find that changing our attitudes can aid recovery.
The disease of alcoholism affects many families in Saskatchewan. Although
we cannot do anything about another person's drinking, we can work to
change our own attitudes and find happiness, whether the alcoholic is
still drinking or not.
Meetings offer a safe haven.
Al-Anon meetings in Saskatchewan are closed, unless otherwise designated.
Closed meetings are limited to persons who feel their lives have been
or are being affected by the alcoholism of a family member or friend.
In this way, participants feel free to discuss what is in their minds
and hearts. What is said in meetings is treated as confidential. We
do not discuss members or their sharings outside the meetings. As the
saying goes, "Who you see here, what you hear here, when you leave
here, let it stay here."
